Hockey world mourning the passing former goaltender, Welland’s Mark Laforest

Laforest played over 100 NHL games over six seasons

The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced the passing of former goaltender Mark Laforest.

Born in Welland, Laforest played 103 NHL games over six seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Ottawa Senators.

He was part of the Adirondack Red Wings team that captured the Calder Cup in 1986.

Laforest was 62 years old.
