Suspect ran off with jewellery after viewing items
Niagara Regional Police have been investigating two jewelry thefts, one in St. Catharines and one in Welland.
In November, in both cases, a man entered the stores, asked to view jewelry, and ran off with it once given access.
The thefts occurred at Kavar Jewellers in the Pen Centre and Tianna’s Jewelry in the Seaway Mall.
Police from multiple jurisdictions investigated the whereabouts of the suspect resulting in a search warrant being executed at a residence in Markham.
As a result, 21-year-old Diego Dini of Markham was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5000.
