Police responded to calls regarding man near the edge of the falls
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is appealing to the public for witnesses after a man is believed to have entered Niagara Falls.
At around 9:15pm on April 15, Niagara Parks Police responded to a call about a man seen near the edge of Horseshoe Falls, close to the Table Rock Welcome Centre.
A responding officer tried to communicate with the man, but shortly after, he entered the water.
The SIU is investigating due to police involvement at the time of the incident. The man, who has not been identified, is presumed deceased.
Authorities is asking anyone with video or information, particularly those in the area at the time, to contact investigators.
