St. Catharines & Welland saw largest increases in doctor numbers
The Niagara Region has added 16 new family doctors since the start of 2024.
St. Catharines and Welland saw the biggest increases, with Niagara Falls also adding new physicians - resulting in an estimated 15,000 residents now having expanded healthcare access.
Efforts to attract and retain doctors continue, with a long-term recruitment strategy in the works.
