OPP reminds walkers and runners to stay visible on local roads
As the warmer weather begins to encourage more people to head outdoors, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reminding walkers and runners to make visibility a priority-especially at night.
Sgt. Ed Sanchuk of OPP highlighted the importance in a recent safety message, after a pedestrian was barley spotted while walking down a dark country road.
If you’re going to be out walking, make sure you’re bright and can be seen stressed Sanchuk.
Drivers are also being urged to stay alert and watch for the increased activity on local roadways.
Sanchuk’s message is clear: Be bright. Be visible. Be seen. Most importantly, be safe.
