What's Good in Niagara? Local mechanic warns of the dangers of potholes

Three of Niagara's five worst roads are in Niagara Falls

With the temperatures going up and down so much the last few months, potholes have been popping up across the region.

Owner of Murdoch’s Tire and Automotive Don Murdoch says every year he sees cars come in with pothole-related damage. He says a big part of this is the size of today’s tires.

He adds that if you can, avoid potholes completely, but if you have to drive over one, do so slowly.

Don adds that it’s not just tires and rims you have to be careful for when you hit a pothole, as sometimes your alignment could also be thrown off.

In 2024, CAA ranked the five worst roads in the Niagara Region as Portage Road, Lundy's Lane and Willoughby Drive in Niagara Falls, Sider Road in Fort Erie, and Ridge Road in Welland.
