23-year-old paramedic received four 'yes' votes from judges
After years of trying and finally getting her shot - St. Catharines' very own Brianna Monterosso has made it on Canada's Got Talent.
The 23-year-old paramedic was featured on Tuesday's episode of the hit television talent show, after singing during auditions six months ago for judges Shania Twain, Howie Mandel, Kardinal Offishall and Katherine Ryan.
She says watching it with her co-worker, and roommate, was surreal.
Monterosso was on shift at the time of the episode, and couldn't watch the episode live as it aired, but says the feedback she heard from friends and family all over was amazing.
In the episode she Facetimes her mother, who works at Fallsview Casino, before performing for her and the judges. All four judges voted 'yes' for Brianna to advance.
She says the experience of being on the show and auditioning in front of a live audience at OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino was a whirlwind. When it came to pursuing music, Monterosso says she wanted to do this because of her mother's support growing up.
While details regarding whether or not she's advanced to the competition's semifinals are confidential, a two-hour finale will take place at OLG Stage on May 13th.
